    Children from the local kindergarten thank Plant Manager Dr. Michelle Zimmermann and the employees at BorgWarner’s facility in Arnstadt, Germany, for their $2,500 donation to their school. 
 
Employees Donated $105,000 to Local Charities in 2007
Seventeen BorgWarner facilities earned Safety or Chairman's Awards in 2007 for achieving one year or one million hours without a lost time incident, respectively. Employees donated their $5,000 or $10,000 award to local charities, including the Seongyook Children’s Welfare Center in Korea, Special Olympics and the Alzheimer’s Society in Canada, a kindergarten and zoo in Germany, a charity caring for children infected with HIV in Mexico, and the American Cancer Society in the U.S.
BorgWarner Sends Aid to China
BorgWarner pledged $50,000 in aid for earthquake victims in China and will match employee donations, up to an added $50,000.
BorgWarner Named Best Enterprise 2008
The Ningbo Yinzhou District recognized the BorgWarner Thermal Systems facility in Ningbo, China, for its contributions to environmental protection, technological leadership, employee safety, quality and the local economy over the past 10 years.
Volunteers Clean Up
40 BorgWarner employees and their families spent a Saturday painting and cleaning the yard at a "Grace House" in Pontiac, Michigan. The house offers shelter, child care and life skills training for the homeless. BorgWarner also provided breakfast and supplies for all community volunteers.
Children Meet Racing Heroes
BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems in Brazil treated 30 families with children ill with cancer or blood diseases to lunch and the opportunity to meet the winners of the Rally dos Sertoes, the largest off-road race in Latin America.
BorgWarner Helps Make Wishes Come True
BorgWarner donated $10,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the 10th Annual BorgWarner Classic Golf Outing in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Jesse McComas, who is battling lymphoma, met with golfers after getting his wish to "shop his heart out" at Best Buy.
BorgWarner Named Philanthropist of the Year
BorgWarner Morse TEC in Ithaca, New York, was named Philanthropist of the Year for its leadership gifts to the local medical center, community college, YMCA, library, museums and United Way.
BorgWarner Starts Up Turbo Academy
BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems joined Mannheim University of Applied Science in establishing and financing the university's new TurboAcademy to train qualified turbocharger specialists for the future.
