This position will be responsible for generating the detailed designs (3D models and drawings) according to the Product Engineer guidelines and allows you to learn a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the functional area of CAD Design.

Reporting to our CAD Designer Supervisor, this position will be located in Viana plant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop accurate designs, layouts, and stack-ups of individual parts or assemblies using accepted drafting standards and conventions
  • Develop detail drawings and layouts
  • Prepare design proposals
  • Perform maintenance of CAD files. Continue training with advanced CAD methods and Equipment.
  • Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisor, engineers, co-workers, and customers. This requires maintaining daily personal contact with all facets of the function's operations and remaining aware of current progress
  • Develop and maintain customer and internal guide files, drafting standards, work instructions, and other tools intended to enhance the efficiency and abilities of his/her Design Group

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Vocational education in Design is required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • Experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge in CAD methods and equipment, or in similar software i.e. CATIA V5, CREO, NX
  • Understanding of design drawings, layouts, stack-ups and verbal design instructions, and understanding of applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Must be a team player and have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP R/3 helpful
  • Good English language skills (spoken and written) required
  • Good level of Portuguese (spoken and written) desired
