Position Summary

The Borg Warner Morse Systems’ Americas Sales Internship Program is designed to provide direct working experience with sales professionals from the perspective of a Tier-One Automotive Supplier.  The position will expose the intern to a variety of assignments that will assist the  Sales team in managing current customer accounts. Individual and team assignments and associated responsibilities will be assigned according to the needs of the sales organization as well as supporting developmental considerations that align with the interests and talents of the student.   The current open position is intended to be a year-round internship starting January 2019, working 25-30 hours per week.

  

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages Purchase Order check list approval process  (downloads contracts from customer’s sites, processes work-flows for approval  and updates part-cross reference price tracking records)
  • Coordinates prototype activities of the sales department (creates request for prototypes quotes, processes prototype orders from the customer, follows up on the deliveries with the prototype groups at the different plants, maintains  and communicates promise dates in customer systems and maintains prototype market pricing file)
  • Maintains Material Adjustment recovery programs (updates monthly/quarterly control documents and processes material adjustment Purchase Orders)
  • Leads Lifecycle Management process improvement and data management  (schedules/follows up on quarterly gate review meetings, adds new programs to the database as needed)
  • Supports the management of Morse sales’ internal collaborative environment (ICE) website, including sales process improvements and information management (grants access to new users, creating/setting up workflows, update training materials/upload sales documents)
  • Supports pick-up/drop off of samples to/from customers as needed
  • Participates in sales activities and interaction with operations, customers, global supply chain and business development as appropriate according to intern’s development interests
  • Supports Sales forecast/long range plan data entry into sales’ systems
  • Supports other projects as deemed necessary by account managers.

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate college student pursuing a degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Strong use of Excel as analytical tool
  • Self-motivated and well organized individual
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous Customer interaction experience, preferred
  • Multilingual candidate, desirable

This position will adhere to the Global Star Safety Framework as well as safety rules, use of equipment, protective devices, safety practices, and training which are outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing incidents and illnesses. He/she must take every reasonable precaution for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and behaviors to their immediate supervisor.
