The Drivetrain Group harnesses a legacy of more than 100 years as an industry innovator in transmission and all-wheel drive technology. The group leverages this understanding of propulsion technology to develop interactive control systems and strategies for all types of torque management.

BorgWarner Morse Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Senior Account Manager at our Powertrain Technical Center (PTC), Auburn Hills MI.

In this role, the Senior Account Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the sales and profitability of accounts assigned, by directly influencing relevant internal and external commercial activities.  Duties will consist of commercial management of assigned accounts, with a focus on profitable revenue growth, business expansion and business maintenance, as well as customer relationship management. This position will encompass significant cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, finance, purchasing, quality and customer service functions to ensure company goals are met.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Sales functional lead for BorgWarner Morse Systems North America for the assigned customer accounts that are current book of business & also new business for growth to meet the Company objectives.
  • Oversees the sales and commercial management for the entire customer programs of the assigned customer accounts and drives cross functional alignment for the customer strategies with functions like Engineering, Finance, Program management, Manufacturing, Purchasing & Quality.
  • Taking leadership in the development and deployment of comprehensive customer business acquisition strategies that improve the profitability and long-term growth of the business unit's systems.
  • Taking leadership in developing and deploying pricing strategies that comprehend market complexities and product leadership premiums required to win the business.
  • Identifying and leading pursuit of new business opportunities at assigned customers with existing products or new products for continued new business growth and meet sales objectives.
  • Managing the messaging strategy at assigned customers with an emphasis on developing strong relationships at all senior levels of both organizations. Building strong rapport with the key decision makers and influencers, developing coaches and sponsors as necessary.
  • Lead and develop the market expansion and sales pursuit strategy for the Hybrid and Electric vehicle business which is part of the important propulsion system strategy for BorgWarner and the Morse Systems business unit.
  • Serve as the Global Sales champion to capture the Voice of Customer coordinating with the regional Sales leaders globally and integrate into the market expansion plan and sales pursuit strategy for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle initiative.
  • Identify, articulate and communicate key trends pertaining to Hybrid and Electric Vehicle market dynamics that has influence to the development of the market expansion and sales pursuit strategy for the business unit.
  • Provide key recommendations for product portfolio management of this market segment to management leadership team involving Vice President of Sales, Product Directors.
  • Responsible for total customer satisfaction, monitoring Morse Systems performance on key supplier metrics in the key areas of Cost, Quality, Delivery and overseeing corrective action plans as appropriate at all the levels of the organization.
  • Articulates a clear understanding of our global industry market trends, competitor position & strategies, and customer development trends and direct relevant information to the appropriate functional teams for consolidation in forecast and market sensing processes.
  • Leading customer commercial contracts execution by negotiating and coordinating with the BorgWarner legal counsel ensuring compliance with BorgWarner commercial policies.
  • Negotiate product pricing and commercial recovery strategies for all commercially related events ensuring a favorable outcome for BorgWarner. Support the management and maintenance of Morse Systems Sales/GCM ICE Site, adherence to sales process, process improvements and account information management.

This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing incidents and illnesses. He/she must take every reasonable precaution for the protection of themselves and co-workers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and behaviours to their immediate supervisor.
