BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems business unit is currently looking for a dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Global Sr. Manager, Electrical Product Engineering for Power Electronics at our Noblesville Technical Center in Noblesville, Indiana.

As the Global Sr. Manager, Electrical Product Engineering you will be responsible for providing leadership and management oversight to a team of product engineers located in multiple geographic locations.  The team is responsible for the project leadership of cross functional development teams that are deploying our technologies for key customer projects from concept to serial production.  With your program management expertise you will be responsible for ensuring product deadlines, deliverables, and quality targets are achieved.  With your technical expertise in embedded SW and HW development your team will be the primary technical contact with the customer.  Your leadership will ensure on time delivery of the product to the customer that meets customer expectations.

As a member of the leadership team at BW, you will help to steer our organization forwards in areas of processes, methodologies, tools and architectures, allowing us to bring innovative products to market, while preserving customer delivery efficiency and precision.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership to a team of Electrical Program Engineers and HW Development Engineers with varying levels of experience and area of expertise.
  • Plan and manage resource allocation, headcount, budget and forecast.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the generation of timing plans, effort estimates, and material costs in the preparation of quotes for BW products.
  • Advance the group’s individual and collective capability.  Coach, mentor and train staff to align with structured development objectives.
  • Provide program management / technical leadership and guidance in support of customer programs and internal projects.
  • Lead and/or Contribute to organizational continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal departments and represent the group within the engineering organization.
  • Foster and promote an environment built on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop and Foster good customer relations.
  • Communicate and enforce safe work procedures.
  • Identification and closure of safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings, hazards and controls, GSSF actions) and their corrective actions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree).
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience with prior management experience required.
  • Solid experience developing embedded systems; automotive, powertrain, and power electronics experience preferred.
  • Automotive experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience and proven track record in leading teams developing embedded systems from concept through production.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication (verbal and written) skills required.
  • Proficient in English language required
  • Strong project planning and management throughout the complete ECU development life-cycle.
  • Solid knowledge of Automotive SPICE, APQP, DFMEA, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Functional Safety (ISO26262) knowledge preferred.
  • Willingness/ability to travel 10% both domestically and internationally
