Position Requirements: The function of the team leader as a member of management is to assume responsibility for total team functions relative to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and teamwork.

The Team leader will report directly to the supervisor.  Principal responsibilities will be to supervise and coordinate team activities including but not limited to delegating work assignments, inventory management, training new team members, filling in for absent team members, initiating corrective action and performing the verbal step of the corrective action procedure, policy adherence, safety and environmental compliance, quality compliance, records retention, and conducting huddles.

  • Ensure team compliance to safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Conduct team huddles to communicate safety talks and other pertinent information.
  • Ensure team compliance to QS9000/TS16949 guidelines.
  • Perform inventory management to assist with on-time delivery.
  • Setup and operate equipment assigned to the team.
  • Attend department meetings and plant-wide huddles.
  • Provide on the job training to team members including safety and quality aspects.
  • Cover for absent team members.
  • Meet performance standards and document performance improvement.
  • Ensure necessary records are retained; such as scrap reporting, downtime tracking, SPC, and set-up sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned

Act and perform duties in a manner that is conducive to a professional, productive and team-oriented environment.

Due to the labor grade of this position it does not fall into the shift preference/balancing. Dependent of business needs and requirements.

Degree Requirements:

High School diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.

                                     

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to attain a forklift license within 30 days.
  • Ability to work overtime during shift overlaps and when other team leaders are absent.
  • Computer skills to work with Microsoft programs.
  • Solid mechanical skills and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledgeable of SPC.
  • Strong interpersonal skills relative to leading a team: conflict resolution, motivation, delegation, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced leading a team.

Internal Candidates: Eligibility to Bid

•     Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions.

•     Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration. 

•     Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job.

•     Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.

•     If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.

•     This Position requires that you be able to Read and Write English.

Internal Candidates : Eligibility to Interview

•     Applicants must meet all criteria in the job bidding process

•     Employees who have been interviewed within 6 months for the SAME exact position  may not be re-interview.

•     Employees wishing to apply for LG 5 or below positions will be considered if they -

a)  have record of previously completing and passing the prior employment testing requirements or

b)  have record of completing the Wonderlic® testing and received the required score to be eligible

c)  Employees with a Wonderlic® Score of 16 or higher and a Wiesen® score of 40 or higher for this position.

External Candidates:

  • This Position requires that you be able to Read and Write English.
  • Candidates with a Wonderlic® Score of 16 or higher and a Wiesen® score of 40 or higher are eligible to apply for this position

Pay starts at $21/hour. Shift:6pm-6am(40 hours/week). You can paid double time for hours over 46.

Hiring decision would also be based on the candidate passing both Background screening and pre-employment.
