BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Customer Quality Engineer at our Power Drive Systems Changnyeong (PDS CN), Changnyeong.

The primary function of the Customer Quality Engineer is to coordinate Customer PPAP activity for products and components in compliance with BW PPAP procedures, with the location being based out of the Korea facility in Changnyeong.

[Key Accountabilities]

  • Customer PPAP, 8D review and improvement
  • Visit new/resourced Customers to ensure PPAP progress/process integrity
  • Serve as a roadblock remover to ensure PPAP target dates are successfully met and Analysis field claim
  • Proactively work with Customers to minimize and/or eliminate issues
  • Report Customer PPAP progress/problems to BW team
  • Customer PPAP Submissions
  • Review and make disposition on Customer PPAP submissions
  • Assure PPAP timing remains on time and meets timing objectives
  • Update/communicate PPAP timing to launch team members
  • Responsible for ensuring all PPAP requirements are met and documentation is up to date and on file for components within assigned commodities
  • Customer Quality Training
  • Conduct Customer Quality Training to meet BorgWarner's and/or customer's specific quality expectations/requirements
  • Conduct Customer audits of Implemented Corrective Actions Plans
  • Customer Significant Characteristics Activity
  • Coordinate identification via cross-functional Team approach and ensure Customer conformance to requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring quarterly data is received from Customers and entered into the database

[Education/Experience]

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3-6 years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry related to HKMC
  • Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8-D Methodology) and processes required
  • Knowledge of QS-9000/TS16949 requirements including APQP and PPAP required
  • Knowledge of Mechanics, Statistics or Measuring related degrees are preferred
  • Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables.
  • Proficient at developing trip reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective presentation skills and Professional verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Lotus Notes and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Supplier Development a plus.
  • Experience in Minitab for statistical analysis preferred.
