Treasury Cash and Derivatives Intern

JOB  SUMMARY:

The Intern will participate as member of a small staff, gaining valuable exposure to many of the critical aspects of the Corporate Treasury function at a successful global company. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Cash Responsibilities

  • Daily cash position utilizing the Corporate Treasury Cash Management System.  The system collects daily banking data on cash received at lockboxes, accounts payable disbursements made by controlled disbursement locations, payroll disbursements, automatic clearing of lockbox accounts and funding of disbursing accounts.
  • Assist cash desk with month end close
  • Coordinate with Shared Services Accounting to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of all cash transactions, including accrual accounting and adjusting entries.
  • Assist with internal control documentation and work procedures.
  • Collect support documentation for internal and external audit requests

Derivatives Responsibilities

  • Quarterly completeness and valuation checks of open derivative contracts
  • Retrieve market data from Bloomberg for quarterly valuations and presentations
  • Review HFM month-end journal entries pushed down to operating units
  • Support onboarding legal entities with bank counterparties (ISDA/DF/EMIR/KYC documentation)
  • Support Enterprise Risk Management program as needed
  • Maintain all electronic binder processes, including filing trade documentation.

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

  • Financial Planning projects
  • Support Treasury cash management system improvements.
  • Annual Cash Management projects including gathering and analyzing data on global bank accounts, authorization matrices and banking access review.
  • Coordinate annual confirmation of bank account signatures, collection of internal control documentation from non-US locations, tax filing of non-US bank accounts, and approvals for electronic funds transfers.


 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidate with significant progress toward an MBA or B.S. in a business field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years office related work experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and time management, and organization skills
  • Professional communication skills
