POSITION SUMMARY
Inspect, assemble and conduct complex technical tests on products. Analyze results and maintain accurate records. Service engineering by building and maintaining test fixtures, chambers and equipment. Calibrate test equipments as necessary. Order and maintain a general parts inventory that will allow maximum tester utilization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate various test equipment
  • Help design, construct and document the mechanical systems and electronic controls system for the testers
  • Maintain accurate records of designs and tester upgrades and repairs
  • Recommend new test and calibration equipment
  • Operate and train others to operate shop equipment
  • Participating in training, leading and motivating peers
  • Plan and execute projects with minimal supervision
  • Inspect componenets to specification conformance
  • Assist in the development of product and test improvements and solve problems
  • Train and guide new technicians and engineers on our products and processes
  • Prepare customer samples
  • Assist the calibration lab

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree preferred or demonstrated prior work experience
  • Certification as a Instrument or Mechanical Technician preferred

This position will adhere to the Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Emissions Tralee Safety Policy Manual.  This individual will work in a manner that stresses the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses.  He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and co-workers.  In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to their immediate supervisor.
