BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Environmental Specialist at our SLP Plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the EHS&S Manager, the Environmental Specialist will be primarily responsible for leading and maintaining the ISO 14001: 2015 System and all the processes applicable to environmental care, through the identification, evaluation and monitoring of all improvement actions, compliance with legal requirements and identification support. of security risks and closure of findings.


• Provide support to sustain the Environmental Administration System based on the ISO 14001: 2015 standard, including: the development, control of implementation and continuous improvement.
• Promote compliance with environmental policy.
• Coordinate the internal audits of the Environmental Administration System.
• Follow-up of the annual training plan in environmental, safety and health matters.
• Comply and supervise the controls established to prevent environmental impacts.
• Review compliance with the established requirements for handling and storage of waste and hazardous materials
• Management and administration of the hazardous waste warehouse.
• Review compliance with all legal requirements regarding the Environment that apply to the plant.
• Attend external audits, government institutions and / or customers regarding the Environmental Management System and support in Safety audits
• Monitoring of environmental plans and programs.
• Monitoring of preventive and corrective actions for the environment and safety.
• Serve as an instructor on safety and environmental issues.


• Schooling: Industrial, Chemical or Environmental Engineering
• Experience time in a similar position: 3 years
• Required technical knowledge: ISO 14001, industrial safety systems and environmental ecology, environmental regulations, safety and industrial hygiene, NOM’s. Legal procedures Federal, State and Municipal Government Institutions, accident investigation and prevention, ergonomics and risk analysis
• Other requirements: Microsoft Office, ease of teaching courses.
