Position Summary

The Product Line Leader must meet production schedules for their area of responsibility, while making production decisions that assure customer satisfaction, quality, cost, operational excellence, safety, and environmental objectives are met. 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure planned production levels, quality, efficiency, and budget objectives are met.
  • Investigate and analyze problems pertaining to production delays, quality discrepancies, inventory control, and inadequate methods.
  • Maintain effective work relationships within the department and all levels of the company.
  • Effective implementation of work, personnel, and pay policies in a timely fashion.  
  • Promote safe work practices, conditions, and habits.
  • Participate in the development of departmental objectives.
  • Effectively identify, prioritize, communicate, and implement effective operations improvement plans.
  • Must be capable of training and mentoring the Team Leaders in his/her respective department.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of site safety and health goals, objectives, rules and procedures. He/she will actively participate in the Global Star Safety Framework (GSSF) program, as well as, follow all EHS rules, procedures and policies.

Education, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Superior skills in managing and improving production systems and processes.
  • Superior communication, leadership, organization, coaching, project management, and follow-through skills.
  • Automotive industry standards and process knowledge: SORs, APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEAs, Flow Charts, Routings, TS 16949.

Experience Requirements

  • Must have at least 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with high volume, electro-mechanical products.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in a supervisory capacity as well as an in-depth understanding of manufacturing operations, processes, and procedures.
