Senior Global Manufacturing Engineer

This position will support testing for many Transmission Controls projects and new products being developed for the global market. This person will develop test sequences, specifications and approval of test specification. The role will provide plant support when needed to problem solve technical test issues and become that link between the plants to insure standard specifications applications. There will also be support of the advance manufacturing launch team for launch of new test equipment from the specification to the final acceptance.


  • Support, develop and validation of soft for testers based on Labview Test Algorism and transfer/share information with the Manufacturing Facility and Equipment Builders        
  • Work with advanced manufacturing team and local manufacturing engineering team as required and participate in global meetings to insure manufacturing engineering alignment.
  • Work with a cross-functional matrix organization and considers and seeks out the impact of his/her actions within the team.  Actively seeks collaboration with internal and external team members.
  • Responsible for identifying and support development of new  processes or modifications to existing production processes.  This activity encompasses testing of new processes/tooling, performing process capability studies, DOE’s, and establishing process parameters, through the use of the prototype lab, production facility, or other selective resources.  In addition, cycle time, uptime, yield, and costs are to be evaluated, and recommendations are to be provided.
  • Develop and update standards to ensure a consistent process approach, continue development of flexible and standard products and processes to ensure alignment to the global manufacturing facilities.
  • Support development of production test specifications, test plans and standard specifications as required.
  • Develop production test sequences and routines – transfer and share information with the manufacturing facility and equipment builders
  • Run R&R studies on developed test sequences to verify the reproducibility and repeatability of the test algorisms.
  • Assist as required the production test facility with test equipment design, build, run-off, etc. 
  • Support development of new methods of testing to reduce lead time and Capex.
  • Works with project teams to achieve technical goals.
  • Designs tooling and fixturing as required for testing.
  • Capable of demonstrating good problem solving ability and strong analytical skills. 
  • Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies, and current health, safety, and environmental policies. 
  • Uses SQL database to collect, transfer and analyze data within the manufacturing process.
  • 25% travel in average



  • An Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. 
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience; experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing company preferred.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated good technical skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of powertrain products and hydraulics
  • Must have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products — Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SQL
  • Labview level II experience, VB, C+ would be an advantage too
  • Understanding of machine and tooling design and new process development
