BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Software Engineer supporting the Electronics Systems and Controls Competency at our Propulsion Technical Center.

In this role you will be responsible for developing software for our electronic controls solutions in an effort to meet or exceed customers expectation. Your area of operation will include powertrain electronic controls systems for power electronics within our hybrid and electric propulsion drive products. You will work in conjunction with cross functional and project teams to develop the software with quality and robustness with the ability to promote reusability.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement software for embedded ECUs from requirements to deployment.
  • Analyze and elicit software requirements from the customer and/or system requirements.
  • Design, develop, code, test, debug and integrate the software.
  • Review the code, software design and test specifications.
  • Analyze and enhance the efficiency, stability and scalability of the software and embedded hardware resources.
  • Interface and integrate third party and open source software.
  • Configuration manage software work products.
  • Identify, analyze and manage all problems during the software development.
  • Manage and track the software change requests.
  • Implement the software quality assurance and support further quality improvements.
  • Perform software quality checks and trouble shoot software issues.
  • Provide post production support.
  • Interface with hardware design and development.
  • Configure and test the AUTOSAR basic software for communication stack, diagnostic stack, memory stack and/or other AUTOSAR components and modules.
  • Develop and test the application layer software components utilizing model based development tools.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering or equivalent degree. Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in automotive vehicle development is required. Working experience in XEV is preferred.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in developing automotive embedded software is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in AUTOSAR basic software configuration (communication stack and/or diagnostic stack) is required. Experience in device driver development is preferred.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience in the integration of software components is preferred.
  • Experience in AUTOSAR configuration and authoring tools is required i.e. Vector DaVinci configurator and developer.
  • Experience working on multi-core Aurix micro-controllers is required.
  • Experience in Flexray and/or CAN database/AUTOSAR extract import and configuration of AUTOSAR BSW required.
  • Experience and Proficient with C programming language is required.
  • Experience in developing control algorithm using MATLAB, Simulink or equivalent is required. Experience with dSpace TargetLink model and code generation is preferred.
  • Excellent software debugging skills is required.
  • Experience with analyzing requirements and software architecture is required.
  • Experience with Software Configuration and Change Management is required.
  • Experience in functional safety and cyber security software development is preferred.
  • Experience with microcontroller emulators, debuggers (Lauterbach), logic analyzers, CANalyzers/ CANoe, CANape and similar test equipment is preferred.
  • Work experience with tools like Git, JiRa, Polarion, Jenkins, Accurev and/or other dev/ops tools is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills is required.
  • Excellent time management skills is required. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
