Position Summary

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Standard Duties:

  • Provides engineering support for ongoing and new operations by performing the following duties.
  • Designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.
  • Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.
  • Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.
  • Designs and conducts plant trials to determine performance capabilities.
  • Interfaces with Manufacturing & Quality Engineers and Maintenance in the development of new and modified equipment and processes.
  • Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.
  • Determines the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand up lifts.
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.

Education & Experience


Associates Degree in engineering or technical degree; or minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience/Computer Skills: 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, correspondences, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
