BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a skilled practitioner to join as Project Lead supporting the Process, Methods, Tools group (PMT) within the Global Systems, Controls and Software team at our Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Process Methods & Tools (PMT) projects, group stand-ups and retrospectives.
  • Recommend and implement metrics, reports, and/or KPIs to show how the PMT group is meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Support the implementation of Process Methods, Tools, & Quality PMT projects.
  • Manage change control boards, ensuring action items and updates are captured and committed to by team members.
  • Develop and implement engineering project management processes, methods and tools to improve project delivery and quality. Champion their adoption in the organization. Maintain a keen eye on advancements in the project management and drive improvements into the organization.
  • Educate engineering staff, at all levels, on project planning processes, providing them the capability for implementing them in their own work.
  • Coach teams in project planning principles, providing employees with feedback and a means of improvement and answering their questions.  Steer the teams using deployed methods to identify and resolve issues early.
  • Advise teams on how to tailor the planning processes to meet both local and global needs, considering the way work is done locally within projects and the requirements for visibility into projects at a global level.
  • Be an advocate for quality, doing things the right way and the benefits that come from working with processes proactively

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field with 5 years of related experience.
  • 5 Years Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management practices and tools required.
  • The proven ability to analyze existing ways of working and to identify and implement improvements required.
  • Practical experience managing projects to ASPICE, ISO26262 and 21434 preferred.
  • Organized and structured work-style and attention to detail are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language required.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage and coordinate projects spanning several geographic locations.
  • Agile or SAFe knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong PC knowledge and experience are required, including experience with Microsoft Project and/or Atlassian Jira
  • Occasional travel may be required
