Job Title:   Human Resources Supervisor

Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Above all, ensure a safe work environment while complying with environmental, quality, and safety rules and programs.  Communicate and enforce safe work procedures, actively identify safety concerns and support the pursuit of corrective actions.
  • Provide leadership characteristics that foster team progress, take the initiative to take on challenging assignments and create opportunity where none exists.
  • Active member of the Plant Management team.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective recruitment systems, performance management systems, compensation and rewards systems and training and development programs.
  • Work with members of management team to formulate a succession plan for key positions.
  • Develop, implement, and attain departmental performance to budget as well as non-financial objectives that complement the business strategy and goals.
  • Provide expert employment and career counseling to ensure satisfied and highly motivated employees and a trusted work environment.
  • Build effective working and communicative relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a catalyst for change while motivating others to support the change.
  • Design, implement and comply with HR programs, services, strategies, policies and initiatives that are responsible to the needs of the plant and integrated with overall group and corporate policies to reduce the company’s exposure to legal or financial claims.
  • Develop and implement internal protocols and procedures regarding issues of personnel disputes, staff misconduct, and policy infractions.
  • Supervise, train, and provide coaching and guidance to the HR team, comprised of HR Generalist and Safety Specialist, as well as the temporary staffing onsite manager.
  • Champion and perform the necessary duties for the safety management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or HR functional field, Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience; experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize and carry out multiple projects.
