Engineering Systems IT Analyst (IT Global Competence Team)

The Engineering Systems IT Analyst will provide technical leadership in the areas of CAD, CAE, EE & SW, PLM and other engineering applications deployment. He/She will work with product engineering groups to solidify and carry out technical, process, and infrastructure requirements, track milestones, and manage issues and risks. The Engineering Systems IT Analyst will lead local/global projects in our complex environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Administration and support of global multi CAD systems (Pro/ENGINEER, CATIA V5, Siemens NX and SolidWorks in a Windows environment
  • Administration and support of CAE applications in a LINUX HPC & Windows Workstation environment
  • Project Management
  • Administration and support of a PLM System (SAP PLM and Siemens TeamCenter)
  • Expertise with Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) concepts
  • A solid understanding of R&D Design and Release processes
  • Define and continuously develop the CAx and PLM architecture ensuring alignment with the overall IT Strategy and Business Objectives
  • Work with our Electric, Electronic & Software Teams and support the implementation and standardized of our new Electrical Design Framework
  • Facilitate testing - create test cases, complete system/integration testing, facilitate user acceptance testing
  • Stay current with technology and determining the impact of hardware and/or software upgrades on new and existing applications
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction on assigned projects
  • Understand IT processes and work within designated guidelines
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel (up to 8 weeks/year)
  • Drive ideas for IT technology to support engineering, technology roadmaps
  • Drive continuous improvement and best use of technology

Eductaion & Experience:

  • A degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or computer science or in a related field
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of CAD/PDM software solutions
  • Minimum 3 years of previous in CAx/PLM administration experience
  • Experience in Electric, Electronic & Software tools (ALM, E-CAD, etc.) and processes (SPICE) is a plus
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; demonstrate initiative and make suggestions for departmental process/procedure improvements
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of training users Engineering Systems applications, making presentations to an internal audience and writing basic documentation
  • Good skills with Windows commands/utilities
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment
  • Very good English skills
