POSITION SUMMARY

BorgWarner is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI.

This person will primarily be responsible for assisting the engineering team with a variety of manufacturing processes. In addition, there may be other projects assigned to continue growth and development in the engineering function.

                                            

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership in identifying and implementing new and innovative manufacturing.
  • Identifying and resolving process-related inefficiencies and championing process improvement project.
  • Provides process engineering and controls support of existing processes.
  • Lead assigned projects to timely completion.
  • Maintain Manufacturing System Design (MSD), Job Element Sheet (JES) etc. for new projects.
  • Perform assignments that have moderately complex objectives and require the investigation of multiple variables.
  • Assist in trouble-shooting of a product. Perform Root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage and drive projects to completion.
  • Assist with the analysis of statistical process analysis on new and existing products.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • General understanding of Engineering Drawings and ability to interpret them (preferred).
  • Knowledge in statistics, FMEA, Control Plan APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, DOE and product and process capability
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing process (preferred).

This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
