BorgWarner is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI.

This person will primarily be responsible for working with cross functional teams to lead new assembly and/or functional test processes for remanufacturing/re-processing fuel system products or components of commercial vehicles and guide manufacturing engineers on their respective processes.


  • Work with cross functional teams to lead new assembly and/or functional test process for remanufacturing / re-processing fuel system products or components of commercial vehicles
  • Responsible for developing test methodologies for competitor components / products
  • Develop & maintain the engineering documentation for all the responsible areas
  • Work with 3rd party suppliers to develop new assembly & test equipment for reprocessing of fuel system products / components
  • Guide manufacturing engineers on respective projects and trouble shoot existing production equipment
  • Utilize statistical data analysis & reporting skills to lead solutions
  • Responsible for RFQ and Capex management for new assembly and test projects
  • Write simple code in Labview and C# for in house process development
  • Lead and train Manufacturing Engineers and Senior Manufacturing Engineers on various manufacturing processes                                                           
  • Work with management to derive detailed project plans/ roadmap                                            


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical,  Mechanical or Science Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of Electronics or Electro-mechanical devices
  • 4+ years of experience with hands-on manufacturing experience with electrical/electro -mechanical components
  • 4+ years of experience with the use of laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Multimeters and Function Generators, Soldering Equipment
  • 4+ years of experience with Data Acquisition Systems and Vision systems
  • 2+ years of experience with LabVIEW, C++, or VB (optional)
  • Experience with high speed data acquisition systems, vision system setup and integration and control hardware 
  • Remanufacturing Experience preferred
  • Experience with engine subsystems and electro mechanical devices (Smart Remote Actuators, EGR Valves, ECU’s, Control Modules, Solenoid control using PWM preferred
  • Experience with CAN communication tools, example CANalyzer preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Automotive Manufacturing Engineering background preferred
