General Description

The Buyer will be primarily responsible for the procurement of CAPEX & MRO related at the plant. As part of purchasing team, the individual will help set strategies for CAPEX &MRO in line with plant and global procurement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  

  • Execute MRO & Capital purchase activities
  • Procures CAPEX &MRO all related demands, prepares orders, obtains and analyzes quotes, generates and processes requisitions, maintains related records, and expedites deliveries with supply base
  • Conducts routine purchase negotiations with suppliers to establish agreement and conditions governing purchases
  • Support new program launches by sourcing new CAPEX in a timely manner
  • Follows up any technical changes with suppliers to assure the valid contract, that changes are implemented in timely manner at no or minimal incremental cost for company
  • Resolves routine problems in supplier performance
  • Cost optimization in terms of purchase strategy
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance, ensure stable quality and delivery
  • Manage supplier resource, optimize supplier roadmap based on purchase strategy and plant request to meet all purchase request objectives
  • Take effective actions to obtain sustainable purchasing productivity
  • PO payment upon contract

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in areas of CAPEX& MRO Procurement, Material Management, Machinery manufacturing etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Studies/ Economics/ mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Works under close supervision
  • Good understanding of operations and how purchasing interacts with other functions
  • Knowledge of Purchasing and other relevant processes and tools
  • Substantial knowledge base of technical and specialized materials and relevant supplier capabilities
  • Ability to execute against established tools and processed
  • Ability to effectively utilize standard purchasing techniques, policies, and procedures
  • Basic understanding of supply and market economics
  • Proven general procurement skills
  • Exhibits initiative and responsiveness towards resolving supplier issues
  • Under supervision effectively manages assigned suppliers
  • Exhibits self-discipline and good analytical skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility. Always deliver high quality. Good Communication skills and willing to cooperate
