BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems (PDS) is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Manager, Program Management at our Indiana Technical Center (ITC) in Noblesville/Kokomo, Indiana.

In this role, the Manager, Program Management is responsible for functionally managing and leading a team of program managers in North America to ensure the team is meeting or exceeding internal and external (to BorgWarner) expectations including project timing, technical content (product and process), cost, and quality from award to production launch. 

The Manager, Program Management will report to the PDS Director of Program Management, Americas. 

Key Accountabilities:

Functionally manage and lead a team of program managers responsible for programs across multiple product lines and regions

  • Support and influence a team of program managers.
  • Instill a clear and executable vision for the team.
  • Drive engagement and communication with the team, management, and the customer.
  • Motivate team members to meet internal and external (to BorgWarner) program objectives.
  • Drive accountability and action within the team.
  • Raise the expectations of the program management team in the Americas by developing and institutionalizing an entrepreneurial spirit within the team.
  • Ensure a robust and efficient program management discipline is followed including compliance to the PDS Product Development Process.
  • Assist with resolving internal and external issues, remove roadblocks limiting the team, and report any critical issues to the PDS Management Team.
  • Ensure appropriate talent levels within the team and implement a focused people development plan.
  • Support the development of program cost, pricing, and financial models.
  • Drive closure of action items generated during regular program reviews.
  • Influence all levels of the organization to build support for the team in their march toward successful program execution.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Manage program risks and issues in a transparent, constructive, and positive way.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience in program management and engineering, and/or operations (automotive preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries.
  • Successful leadership of cross functional teams including, but not limited to manufacturing, engineering, sales, global supply management, finance, and program management.
  • Experience with leading others including the ability to influence, motivate, and build an effective team.
  • Demonstrated capacity for developing and understanding business, product, and advanced manufacturing strategies.
  • Success in launching complex, critical programs strongly preferred.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems related to product, customer, and business requirements.
  • Wide engineering background with experience in complex systems with mechatronics, electrical machines, power electronics, and software.
  • Experience in automotive powertrain/driveline components and systems strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of managerial finance as it relates to program and business metrics.
  • Travel requirements depend upon regional program requirements
