BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Advanced Launch Manager at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key Accountabilities:
 

  • Manage projects supply base from supplier’s selection to production ensuring cost and timing compliance to budget 

  • Holds program kickoff reviews with the rest of the purchasing team to outline key program deliverables

  • Work to identify and mitigate risks as well execute improvement plans

  • Manage launch reviews, launch reports, cost walks, and one pager summaries

  • Lead supplier management aspects in cross functional teams, including engineering, program management, supplier development, quality and manufacturing team

  • Manage a smooth transition from advanced launch phase to production

  • Responsible for supporting BorgWarner's new technology products by identifying and driving new supplier technologies

  • Responsible for managing all post supplier nominations / sourcing activities as it pertains to engineering driven changes

  • Continuously ensure the improvement of health, safety and environmental conditions.

  • Participate in the definition, implementation and maintenance of the organization's policies.

  • Participate in the definition of objectives of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work.

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety at work standards, policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibility.

  • Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all areas.

  • Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards.

  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period

  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules.

  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of servisse.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor 's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent is required

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent is a plus

  • 5 years + of purchasing or program management experience working in an automotive production purchasing/GSM environment

  • Experience in automotive and /or EMS industry is an advantage

  • Negotiation Experience

  • Program Management Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, eRFQ, Web based Intranet Systems, MRP systems knowledge a plus

  • Enthusiastic, flexible and keen approach to learning, etc.

  • Ability to lead a team

  • Critical Analysis Skills

  • Structured individual with good problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and able to deal with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize work accordingly

  • Must be able to work alone with minimum guidance, but also be able to operate effectively as part of a team.

  • Must be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic. Requires minimal management input to achieve objectives.
