In this position you are responsible for all the activities related to one of the areas of the Hight Voltage Heaters (HVH) Product Development (PD) team as product engineer and supervisor of the Software Development (SWD) discipline. You will hire, coach, allocate and grow the team in a consolidated team, building a promising technical center who will support projects and divisions all over the world. You will solve and coordinate all necessary technical and resources issues during the development of the product within BorgWarner and towards the customer, participating also in the escalations and the process improvement of your discipline.
System, Hardware, R&D, Mechanical, System Test and Electronics Transversal departments work and interact very close to each other.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides engineering leadership and is considered to manage the technical expertise of the group where he/she is responsible for.
• Leads talent development of team, structure and individuals: provides leadership that fosters team progress, takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments and creates opportunity where none exists.
• Manages both engineering team expenses and capital investments budget of his/her area – for LRP  (Long Range Plan) and beyond.
• Coordinates all the activities of his/her area for the Power Electronic development parts designed in the team.
• Grants the department processes to meet our procedures and quality for the full development life cycle of the product.
• Together with his/her peers, supports other disciplines during their development phase.
• You will be part of the HVH staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s in science or Electronics Engineering or similar (Electro technology, Telecommunications, Instrumentation…) or broad experienced profile consolidated. Master is highly valuable
• +10 years’ experience in the areas of technical Engineering and/or supervision of professional/technical people.
   

Also valuable:

• Experience in power electronics development.
• Automotive experience - Customer contact also valuable
• BW experience, >5 years.
• Automotive ASPICE standard.
• Knowledge of ISO – 26262. Functional Safety
