Job purpose

A Material Planner is responsible for coordinating schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and production departments
  • Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve the client or customer needs
  • Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays
  • Disposition of goods in terms of quantity and on time to ensure a trouble-free supply of our serial production
  • Monitoring of procurement dates
  • Inventory and utilization planning according to financial aspects and ideal availability
  • Processing of merchandise management and administrative logistics tasks
  • Initiation of corrective measures in case of changing requirements including bottleneck planning
  • Application methods of Lean Management
  • Participating in specialist projects
  • By working out optimization proposals, you contribute to the permanent development and improvement of our logistics processes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • Associate degree in Business or similar discipline
  • 3-5 years of related work experience ideally in the field of supply chain management/logistics/merchandise management
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably automotive
  • Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software
  • Experience with lean systems/methods, project management and process optimization
  • High level of commitment, loyalty, and team spirit as well as an independent, precise, and goal-oriented way of working
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems
  • Team player with hands-on mentality
