Position Summary

The Team Leader is an active member of the Plant Leadership Team and will assign work appropriately to ensure production, safety, and quality objectives are met and procedures are followed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure planned production levels, quality, efficiency, and budget objectives are met.
  • Plan equipment and manpower utilization to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Investigate and analyze problems pertaining to production delays, quality discrepancies, inventory control, and inadequate methods.
  • Ensure disposition of defective parts considering cost of salvage/rework probabilities.
  • Effective implementation of work and personnel policies in a timely fashion through coaching.
  • Must be willing to attend training courses required by management, including customer specific training requirements.
  • Ability to setup and/or operate machines within department.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, maintain and analyze process control charts and records accurately.
  • Maintain effective work relationships within the department and all levels of the company.
  • Promote safe work practices, conditions, and habits.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to call up programs, offset tools, and an overall knowledge of basic CNC machine operation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent, recommended.
  • Knowledge of and the effective use of customer specific quality systems must be successfully achieved within two years from hire date.
  • 3 years related experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Background in troubleshooting.
  • Previous CNC machining experience or CNC technical technical/college level classes preferred.
  • Blueprint reading and/or training.
