To provide quality support to the assigned production operations to ensure the integrity of
components and products produced by those operations.
Aggressively drive site quality improvement efforts goal of achieving “zero defect” performance.

o Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area through participation as integral part of manufacturing team.
o Drives and champions quality improvement efforts.
o Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis.
o Responsible for New Product Qualification, and verification of changes to current product.
o Through the application of APQP, supports the external customers in New Product Introduction. Ensures that internal customer needs for Quality Systems are met in a timely and functional manner.
o Ability to prepare PPAP packages, including FMEA, Control Plans, PSW, IMDS, Process Flow, and MSA studies. Knowledge of AIAG standards for FMEA, SPC, MSA, and PPAP preferred.
o Strong communication (verbal and written) skills for both internal and external customers, presentation skills, organization skills, and project management skills.
o Results for this position will be measured by improvements to Customer Satisfaction: Parts Per Million, Corrective Action Timing and Effectiveness, and Building Customer Relationships. Additional internal measurements include Scrap Rate, Audit Compliance, and Response Time to Manufacturing Issues.
o Optimizes Process Capability on significant characteristics through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and training of manufacturing employees and technicians in Problem-Solving.
o Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making.
o Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action.
o Establishes himself or herself as an expert on quality control and quality improvement.
o Takes responsibility for driving quality results. Builds credibility with our internal as well as external customers.
o Lead or facilitate 8D completion and problem solving activities.

o Provides advice and solutions based on sound problem analysis and team-based solutions to others.
o Utilizes effective project management and problem-solving tools such as cause/effect analysis, flowcharting, mapping and timelines to come to logical solutions.
o Actively pursues learning other aspects of the business.
o Supports the role quality plays in the overall success of the business.

  • Requires a four-year degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; and a minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Engineering / Quality Assurance experience in a metalworking environment.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine (metalworking) and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 & IATF16949 required.
  • Above average computer skills in MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc. Experience in Minitab for statistical analysis. SAP experience a plus.
  • ASQ Certification a plus.
