Job purpose

BorgWarner is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Marketing Manager for our Aftermarket team in Auburn Hills, MI.

This person will lead a marketing / cross functional team performing marketing functions including category management, pricing, catalog, data, and project management. Partnering with Aftermarket leadership, this role will help to set and drive forward the strategy for all areas of marketing previously listed.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the marketing team including all performance management tasks and talent acquisition initiatives to build a solid talent pipeline
  • Review and create processes related to all functions of the marketing team including category management, pricing, catalog management, data, and project management
  • Budget responsibility for the marketing team
  • Lead marketing projects
  • Strategy – Utilize customer insights, market data and other available tools to develop, maintain & deploy category and pricing plans for North America, ensuring market relevance and leveraging business growth opportunities
  • Pricing - Define & implement pricing strategy for North America Independent Aftermarket, with support of pricing team, ensuring market competitiveness and margin optimization
  • Channel – Explore all channel opportunities & define strategy and implementation plan for each appropriate channel
  • Field Visits & Customer Events – Run focus groups, visit customers & support sales team on the field as needed. Participate where appropriate at customer events & industry shows to develop relationships with customers and remain connected to the market & its evolutions.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive all initiatives forward ensuring clear communication both internally and externally                                      

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years experience
  • Experience in a category management, sales or trade marketing role in the Automotive Industry, preferably Aftermarket, 3+ years
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams within a matrix organization
  • Understanding of business drivers, financial drivers & metrics to produce agreed results
  • Able to provide strategic & operational expertise to drive business results
  • Proven ability to leverage understanding of channels & customers in the marketplace to build innovative solutions
