Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall procurement of raw materials, supplies and equipment for the organization. While ensuring warehousing and distributing of raw materials, goods-in-process and finished goods while controlling and scheduling the material flow. Directs receiving, stores and shipping operations and all activities of material planning and control, including the development of objectives, policies and processes. Provides advice and direction in practices for efficient material planning.

Standard Duties :  

  • Directs and coordinates the activities within the PC&L department
  • Deliver cost reductions to attain Plant financial targets, while administering the highest levels of Quality
  • Responsible to oversee that raw materials and components are available for production
  • Directs scheduling and shipping departments to ensure customer demands and expectation are met
  • Provide leadership, discipline, and support to ensure the highest level of safety, housekeeping(5S), and professionalism within the PC&L department
  • Meet/exceed targets for customer performance metrics
  • Directs all planning functions to ensure efficient, timely delivery of part
  • Ensure compliance with all related TS-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
  • Manage planning and inventory control activities for engineering changes, part revisions, launches and build-outs
  • Create, Verify, Implement & Sustain new processes while enhancing existing ones
  • Ensure inventory cost targets are met while developing action plans to reduce on hand inventory, in addition to attaining inventory accuracy
  • Work to optimize standard freight cost on a monthly basis in line with target and develop action plans to eliminate premium freight
  • Manage the production schedule with efficient communication while ensuring  weekly targets are achieved
  • Provide the proper delivery service to the Operation while tracking any and all downtime and all other related KPIs
  • Ensure SAP is being utilized for full functionality in supplier planning, production scheduling, inventory and logistics across PC&L

Additional Information:

  • Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in related discipline.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 8 years’ experience in logistics and SCM related field.
  • 8 years of relevant experience supervising a salaried and hourly workforce and logistics functions.
  • Ability to develop employees and provide mentoring.
  • Recognized expert with ability to train others.
