BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems business unit is currently looking for a dynamic, results driven Electrical Analysis Engineer/Senior Engineer for Electrical Hardware development as part of the Electrical Engineering competency at our Technical Centre India in Bengaluru.
Position Summary:
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Electrical engineering Manager, the Electrical Analysis Engineer will be responsible for Performing Electrical simulation & analysis for various BorgWarner complex Electronics Controllers and Power Electronics production projects to meet customer, internal, and regulatory requirement in a fast-paced start-up like environment within a Fortune 500 Organization.

Educational Qualifications : M.E/M.Tech in Power Electronics / Automotive Electronics / Electrical

Experience: 3-5 years of work experience in Electronic Circuit Analysis/Simulation, Worst Case Analysis. Experience in Automotive electronics is a plus.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Circuit Analysis, Worst Case Analysis for various circuit blocks and power module designs.
  • Electrical analysis of Si and SiC Power Modules using SABER (and) SPICE simulation tools.
  • Stress & De-rating Analysis of electronic components.
  • In-depth understanding of various component tolerances, de-ratings, parameter interdependencies
  • Parametric extraction of Si and SiC based Power Modules (switches) using ANSYS Q3D and/or Maxwell simulation tools.
  • Development of analysis summary reports and contribution toward design refinement as part of a global team
  • Create component and semiconductor switch models and maintain modeling libraries.
  • Verify design feasibility and contribute in business win for BorgWarner.

Major Job Qualifications / Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience of electronic circuit analysis (preference will be given to those with 8+ years electronic circuit analysis experience.)
  • Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical or Automotive Electronics domain.
  • Strong circuit and component knowledge in Power Electronics domain and Si, SiC power modules.
  • Experience on Worst-case statistical analysis for EE circuits and systems, DC, AC, Transient, Electro-thermal, multi-domain simulations
  • Experience in using tools like Saber, MathCAD, ANSYS, PSpice,
  • Experience in multidomain simulations and mixed simulation tools (Saber, Ansys, Electrothermal etc.)
  • Knowledge on Simulation/HDL Languages like SPICE, VHDL-AMS, MAST, IBIS.
  • Experience in SMPS design and analysis, Battery Management systems, Motor design and analysis would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge on Mentor Expedition tool flow – DxDesigner, PCB Layout, DMS would be an advantage.
  • Nice to have knowledge on FMEA, Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and DFSS
