BorgWarner, a leading global automotive parts manufacturer, is seeking a proven leader who has a passion for all things safety for the position of Safety and Health Engineer, based out of our Bellwood Manufacturing Plant. The chosen candidate will be responsible for evaluating, developing, preparing, and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures in collaboration with our safety professionals globally. This hands-on role requires someone who can promote and ensure effective safety operations by conducting safety inspections, administering investigation training, and communicating accident prevention. This position will also lead a cross-functional safety committee, engaging and inspiring team members by communicating the team vision, mentoring others, and providing technical support. The BorgWarner team is interested in you if: • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field • Your work experience includes at least 5 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment; experience in a managerial role preferred • You have extensive knowledge of safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards • You have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and government regulations and write applicable reports and procedures to implementing your findings • BorgWarner is an equal-opportunity employer that offers a generous compensation and benefits package including medical, dental and vision, 401(k) with matching funds, pension plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, vacation, and more.
