Auburn Hills, Michigan, May 10, 2019 – BorgWarner’s production plant in Irapuato, Mexico, recently earned the Great Place to Work® certification for exceeding evaluation criteria in employee satisfaction and excellence in company culture.
The leader in clean and efficient technology solutions for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles, is diligent in seeking continuous improvement and providing superior work environments for its employees. In fact, the company has committees established at all of its locations to ensure expectations are not only being met, but exceeded, worldwide.
“Finding ways to better our work environment is always top of mind at BorgWarner, but we put an even stronger emphasis on seeking out and implementing improvements throughout the past year at our Irapuato facility,” said Kevin McGrogan, Plant Manager at BorgWarner’s Irapuato facility. “In pursuit of this coveted recognition, we proposed initiatives and analyzed improvements to make our plant the best place to work. We are proud of what we accomplished and are honored to receive this certification.”
The Great Place to Work certification process began with a satisfaction survey sent to all employees at BorgWarner’s Irapuato site. Ninety-five percent of the plant’s employees completed the survey, and BorgWarner earned a Trust Index rating higher than 85 percent – qualifying the company for certification. Forty-two employees were called at random to answer questions about the survey, ensuring that the answers were honest and accurate. Great Place to Work then conducted a culture audit, analyzing the benefits of working for the company. BorgWarner’s Irapuato plant received its final grade in April 2019, which showed exceptional results. Additionally, BorgWarner received recommendations to continue improving the workplace based on survey findings.
BorgWarner has a history of receiving recognition for its excellent work environments. Most recently, it was named one of America’s Best Large Employers 2019 by Forbes. The company also was honored as Top Employers China 2019 by Top Employers Institute and a 2018 Detroit Free Press Top Workplace in Michigan.
