Software Engineering Manager

Develop / Update the project strategy for Software Engineering that will identify, establish, plan, coordinate and monitor activities, tasks and resources necessary for the Application Software Engineers to produce a product that satisfies Customer Requirements.

  • Responsible for leading the Software Engineering team assigned to a project in the technical aspects and execution of Software Requirements Analysis, Software Architectural Design, Software Detailed Design, Software Integration Test, Software Testing and Product Release. Leads the Software team in the execution of the Management and Support processes

  • Provides technical expertise and project oversight.

  • Develops technical and leadership skills of assigned personnel

  • Ensures process compliance, oversight, and improvement (quality assurance).

  • Provides technical direction to ensure that the proper software techniques , policies, procedures and methodologies are followed.

  • Provides and encourage the appropriate level of communication between Luxembourg site and all other BorgWarner worldwide

  • Communicates relevant issues to management and communicate management direction and strategies to the software engineers

  • Years of Relevant Experience: >+10 yrs

  • Minimum Education Background: Master's Degree/MBA

  • Educational Discipline/Major Program: Masters, PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • +10 years’ experience software development strategy and software development plans preferably in embedded systems

  • Solid experience and knowledge of ASPICE is required

  • Knowledge about Functional Safety ISO 26262 is required

  • Working knowledge on AUTOSAR

  • Global working experience in key leadership positions within best-in-class companies within Automotive, preferably in power electronics

  • Worked in an environment with multiple nationalities and multiple technical centers across different worldwide geographies. 

  • World-class operational experience gained from multinational companies;

  • Strong leadership experience that combines emotional intelligence, sound judgment, business acumen, strategy development, team leadership, people engagement, people development and communication skills with proven functional expertise

  • Experience in a high-matrix international environment

  • High level of cultural sensitivity, diversity and integrity

Languages : Fluent in English.  German and French are good advantages.
