BorgWarner PowerDriveSystems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Sr. Engineer, Electric Machine Design at our Daegu Technical Center (DTC) in Daegu, Korea.

In this role, reporting directly to the Supervisor of CAE team, Rotating Electric Machines the Sr. Engineer, Electric Machine Design will provide world class electric machine design and analysis, for new product development and continuous improvement projects.  Recognized within Industry Sector as an authority in a technical field. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining new company business contracts. Generates innovative new concepts in electric machine core product areas:  traction motors, and powertrain accessory motors.

[Key Accountabilities]

  • NVH development of the electric rotating machines and powertrain system for Electric Vehicles
  • Modal analysis of parts and the electric rotating machines and systems
  • Forced harmonic response analysis using modal superposition method
  • Extract acoustic pressure and ERP using acoustic harmonic response analysis
  • Noise & vibration issue resolution thru CAE simulation and diagnostic testing
  • Data correlation analysis from testing results with simulation results
  • Electromagnetic, modal and harmonic coupling analysis
  • Dynamic behavior analysis of the electric rotating machines and system
  • Optimization of product design parameters for NVH improvement
  • Operating CAE tools for NVH simulation and analysis
  • Ansys mechanical dynamic analysis
  • Ansys mechanical Acoustic analysis
  • Other tools relating to NVH analysis
  • Troubleshooting support as needed for product development and field problems
  • Technical support to the product engineers for the NVH analysis, testing and mechanism
  • Work with a global group of technical analysis specialists, that are interconnected and committed to continuous learning from best practices and each other
  • Document a test and simulation results, and methods used
  • Participate in technical conferences to grow individual and corporate competency
