Business Unit Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Unit Quality Systems Specialist will ensure compliance with industry, company, customer and regulatory quality standards according to requirements. Specifically, the Business Unit Quality Systems Specialist will maintain and support the execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) at the site and global coordination and introduction of processes, methods and tools for the business unit. These processes include but are not limited to document and records management, continuous improvement, six sigma, change management, customer complaints, change control, supplier quality management program, APQP process, FMEA tool and process, PPAP process, record and data repository, quality reporting and business unit core tool quality training.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Development

  • Lead overall coordination of IATF16949 (including: ISO 9001/ VDA TISAX (ISO 27001), ISO 17025, VDA as applicable), certification for all business unit sites in cooperation and collaboration with plant’s quality managers
  • Lead implementation of continuous improvement and best practice vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to improve operational performance
  • Develop, contribute and coordinate new business initiatives and coordinate and communicate the implementation with all business unit locations globally

General and Task Management

  • Lead IATF16949 QMS certification for the site (Auburn Hills)
  • Liaison between stakeholders involved and work alongside corporate IT Security to support TISAX
  • Develop the Management Systems strategy and the business unit coordination with key milestones and deliverables to ensure flawless introduction of IATF16949 and maintenance of QM System certification
  • Manage all external registration requirements to ensure they are met. Single point of contact with external parties on all matters relating to registration and quality management system of the site
  • Lead and coordinate business unit continuous improvement program with all applicable sites
  • Create new idea to improve operation, recommend and implement continuous improvement activities and process to optimize business results
  • Lead introduction of new tools, systems and technologies to improve business process efficiency
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and external certifying bodies
  • Lead site’s audit team, implement audit plan, coordinate internal auditors
  • Lead and drive KPI mindset into the organization.
  • Onsite training of staff in all aspects of the quality system and applicable procedures

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Work in collaboration with all business unit sites (production and tech centers), partner and engage with key stakeholders to implement the quality strategy
  • Communicate with personnel at multiple levels, internally and externally in regards to the quality matters

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QULIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Engineering or equivalent experience; 5 plus years of experience in automotive
  • Detailed understanding of IATF 16949, ISO14001 / ISO 9001 / IATF16949
    • Knowledge of ISO 17025, TISAX would be a plus
  • Preferred certification to at least one of the following: IATF 16949, ISO 17025, TISAX (ISO 27001), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
  • Certified Lead Auditor
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, or RedX Shainin Certification
  • Strong knowledge of the latest Automotive tools and techniques
  • Automotive Quality Management System Auditing experience
  • Membership of an industry related professional body would be preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and process/system orientation
