The Business Development Manager, M&A supports 1) identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisition opportunities; and 2) divestiture processes, including the carve-out, reverse due diligence and dataroom readiness, marketing and contract negotiations.

This position is located at BorgWarner’s World Headquarters.


  • Develop familiarity with BorgWarner’s acquisition and divestiture strategies.
  • Coordinate acquisition target data review.  Process set-up for the selection and review of potential targets for each BorgWarner business unit.  Assist in research and data gathering of key business targets to strengthen BorgWarner’s core business model.
  • Coordinate the sale of assets/product groups no longer a fit with BorgWarner’s strategic business plan.  Coordinate the tasks needed to complete a sale among various departments of BorgWarner (legal, operations, tax, human resources) and potential buyers.
  • Manage the due diligence review of businesses BorgWarner is evaluating for acquisition. Coordinate the diligence tasks needed to complete the review among various departments of BorgWarner (legal, operations, tax, human resources) and the potential target.
  • Continually assist management in their review and evaluation of potential new business and synergies. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar is required
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus
  • 8 years of work experience at a top public accounting or investment banking firm with manufacturing clients or in a corporate setting
  • Direct, relevant experience in M&A, including conducting financial due diligence and preparing valuation models
  • Extensive experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing staff towards the successful completion of a project
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of initiative, energy and drive with a willingness to do the work of prospecting, relationship building and follow up
  • Adaptable - you can manage multiple projects or responsibilities smoothly and thrive on the varying intensity of the deal flow

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
