Provide world class electrical, controls and safety engineering technical support to the manufacturing and product launch areas that results in product performance that meets or exceeds customer expectations.


  • Supervise and coordinate a work of a team of Technicians (jointly with manufacturing teams) to facilitate the design and installation of equipment for new product installations; analyze work requirements and outline the schedules and methods to be followed.
  • Analyze engineering specifications and manufacturing processes to develop test plans and automated test tools and equipment designed to assure that customer specifications are met.
  • Investigate and analyze quality issues and recommend solutions verified through test plans and procedures.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of Technicians to identify and implement improvements (jointly with manufacturing teams) that reduce product cost, improve quality, and maximize customer satisfaction; analyze work requirements and outline the schedules and methods to be followed.
  • Ensure maximum safety, quality, capability and utilization of manufacturing/processing equipment and processes.
  • Continuously research and implement “Best Practice” controls and processing methods, procedures and safety standards.
  • Provide technical direction to new team members and serve as an in-house resource in the design, construction, and operation of complex state-of-the-art systems, machinery and equipment used for the generation, transmission and distribution of energy.
  • Act as a resource on the safe installation and operation of complex state-of-the-art systems, machinery and equipment used for the generation, transmission and distribution of energy.
  • Assist the Product Engineering staff as needed in new product introductions and/or current product modifications.
  • Review and quote processing and production equipment and tools.
  • Ensure effective documentation and control systems are developed, utilized, and maintained.
  • Determine, justify, and coordinate the purchase and implementation of new equipment and processes jointly with manufacturing teams (Track tooling and AR expenditure).
  • Coordinate and/or perform machine/process diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or perform special studies, DOE’s, and analysis.
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers, employees and all levels of the management team.
  • Coordinate and manage outside contract projects.
  • Participate in a teamwork approach to achieving goals with particular emphasis on Production Teams, the AQP Steering Committee activities, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and support to manufacturing teams as well as  peers. Receives general supervision with broad objectives outlined.
  • Development of specific work procedures to minimize risks.  Training of employees on the procedures and enforcing their use.
  • Facilitating workplace inspections and closure of findings.
  • Facilitating employee involvement in developing, implementing and revising safety and health procedures
  • Performance towards assigned site safety and health program objectives
  • Timely incident investigations and correction of root causes
  • Participation / attendance at safety meetings and training
  • Tracking of safety issues to closure
  • Perform other activities as directed.

Core Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or university.
  • Travel with minimal notification may arise.

Level 1 (Associate)

  • 0 - 1 year Engineering experience (May include relevant co-op experience)

Level 2 - EE

  • 2 - 5 years Engineering experience (May include relevant co-op experience)
  • Demonstrated a general depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in  manufacturing / quality engineering principles

Level 3 – Lead EE

  • 6 years Engineering experience
  • Actively  participated in a major product launch
  • Demonstrated a thorough depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in  manufacturing / quality engineering principles; direct line responsibility for people (other engineers or Technicians).
