Team Leader Systems Engineering – High Voltage Inverters (Nürnberg or Luxembourg)

The Team Leader for Systems Engineering is responsible of the System Project Engineering Team for customer requirements management, translation of customer requirements into detailed product requirements, design items, and compliance testing for power electronics inverter. You will guide a team of 5 to 15 system engineers and will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team, working on latest state of the art 800V SiC and 400V Si / SiC Inverters for Battery Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles for the eMobility mass market.

Job Location: Nürnberg or Luxembourg


  • Manage system customer communication

  • Interface with German or European customers to evaluate and specify power electronic inverter

  • Leading and mentoring the execution of these activities with the system team :

    • Analysis and clarification of Stakeholder Requirements with customer, partners and other relevant inter-departments.

    • Support the technical and architectural decisions about the translation of complex specifications into designs

    • Define the high level internal system requirements for sub-components and cascade to individual owners

    • Decompose Stakeholder requirements in to architectural blocks, I/O interfaces and system requirements/design that are assigned to discipline (SW, HW, Validation, Manufacturing…)

    • Develop the System design by Enterprise Architect and Matlab/Simulink Autocoding.

    • Generate System Documentation under stringent A-SPICE process requirements

    • Generate product functional test plan (compliance testing)

    • Perform product functional testing on test bench and car.

    • System FMEA

    • Support customer test and validation programs.

    • Perform change management with the customer and internally

  • Develop the system feature roll-out plan by internal and customer review. What will be developed and delivered when.

  • Manage individual workload and priority of the system team

  • Support internal customer test and validation programs

  • Request solution support to management when necessary

  • Promote and implement current technology standards, formulate innovative and robust solutions in a competitive environment.

  • Contribute to a team-work focused approach and provide guidance to select the best solutions and make it a reality.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Masters Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic

  • 10 plus years of experience in Automotive Electronic or e-Mobility (Hardware).

  • 3 years in a leadership position, managing customer, planning and resource for complex product

  • High Voltage Inverter experience

  • Good foundation knowledge in software and hardware embedded systems

  • Understanding of vehicle Inverter and e-Machine systems requirements (electrical machine control)

  • Work in a diversified team, where strong cross-team and cross-domain communication skills are key

  • Good foundation knowledge of both hardware and C++/C software in embedded systems

  • Hands-on experience with EA SysML/UML and Matlab/Simulink tools

  • Basic understanding of Functional Safety and ISO26262 is a benefit

  • Big picture thinker with an eye for details

  • Fluency in English and German is required
