POSITION SUMMARY

The SAP Functional Analyst for the FICO modules will provide knowledge and expertise in the SAP ERP environment in multiple functional areas with a FICO focus.  This person is responsible for managing multiple and simultaneous projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating activities to meet business requirements and project completion dates. This person will also provide continuous improvement coaching in multiple modules, but especially the Financial Accounting and Controlling modules of SAP.  This role may also deliver hands-on support in the areas of data manipulation, migration, validation and analysis.

Activities include championing the use of common concepts, standards, procedures and best practices within SAP.  A successful candidate must be able to work well with end users to provide system support, while sharing knowledge and understanding. This person needs to have the ability to gather business requirements and convert them into development design/programming specifications. This role needs to be able to work independently while gathering requirements, performing functional testing, and, creating documentation, and conducting end user training.    This person should also be experienced in SAP customizing/configuration and able to work modifications through the SAP landscape in alignment with the BorgWarner core team. This person will work towards continuous improvement in processes and end-user skill levels, diligently pursuing enhancements to ensure the system is being used properly and fully to meet the business needs.


The SAP Functional Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships throughout the business community, consistently adding value back to the business by leveraging their knowledge and experience to manage multiple projects. This person will work with both internal or external design/implementation teams and work cross-functionally between the business and IT to bridge gap between design, content and technology.  They will also work with a distributed team to provide this support across North America.  Travel will be required up to 25% of their time.

  • Must have experience with and understand many standard business processes and the SAP functionality that supports a manufacturing plant, with a focus in FICO
  • Provide day to day support of multiple SAP modules using systems analysis skills to identify and resolve system and data issues
  • Ability in formulating and defining scope and objectives of projects and ensuring communication of project goals and business direction to functional management
  • Work independently with users to define business requirements; strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Ability in writing program specifications and diagrams, able to define coding logic
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people and management levels
  • Tests, documents, and conducts end user training regarding system enhancements to ensure the system is being used properly and that it is meeting business needs
  • Responsible for delivering the assigned projects on time, within budget while meeting the strategic business and technical requirements
  • Able to manage expectations and communication with business stakeholders
  • Conducting project meetings, assist in project tracking and analysis
  • Ensuring adherence to process standards and reviewing project deliverables
  • Responsible for issue resolution or escalation in a timely manner

SAFETY

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires.  This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses.  He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers.  In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, other related technical degree, Accounting, or Finance; MBA a plus
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Information Technology systems and software development
  • Strong business analysis, definition, and design skills
  • 5+ years of SAP experience in multiple modules; especially FICO 
  • Ability and desire to solve complex process/software functional problems
  • Proven ability to successfully analyze and formulate technical solutions to business problems
  • Strong customer management skills and ability to understand translate and define complex business requirements
  • Ability to provide IT solutions that meet the business needs while staying within budget and often rapid timeframes
  • Attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
  • Qualified candidates should possess a strong understanding of project management
