BorgWarner’s is currently seeking Engineering Co-ops to support our Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.


Assist with prototype build, test, and data collection.  This position requires a minimum of 40 hours on-site per week for a minimum of 3 months.


  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering major
  • Must currently be in enrolled in Engineering college co-op program at Kettering University  
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to perform hands-on work in laboratory environment


  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Mechanical Systems – Course work in mechatronic systems completed or planned to complete.
  • Software – Course work in computer programming completed or planned to complete.
  • Electrical Systems – Course work in basic circuit analysis completed or planned to complete.
  • Automobile Network Systems – Demonstrates basic understanding of in vehicle networking preferred.
  • Automobile Powertrain Systems – Demonstrates basic understanding of automobile transmission and/or all-wheel drive coupling functions preferred.
  • Documentation Skills – Demonstrates ability to write fluently in technical topics.
  • Communication Skills – Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors and customers.
  • Teamwork – Considers and seeks out the impact of his/her actions within the team.  Actively seeks collaboration with internal and external team members.

This position will adhere to the Global Star Safety Framework as well as safety rules, use of equipment, protective devices, safety practices, and training which are outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing incidents and illnesses. He/she must take every reasonable precaution for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and behaviors to their immediate supervisor.
