Purchasing Supervisor

Coordinate the local activities designed to collectively harness the purchasing power within North America and synergistically maximize opportunities to optimize supplier performance, reduce total supply costs, and meet our technology expectations across the entire supply chain. Ensure that the commodities plan complies with the designed strategies. Negotiate contracts with key suppliers. Provide local leadership in communication, implementation, coordination, and compliance with commodity strategies. Role reports to GSM Manager for Reynosa/Kokomo

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE POSITION / RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

• Establish processes and systems that allow generating, sharing, and negotiating strategic purchases, ensuring the proper functioning of the direct purchasing areas, in coordination with the GSM team in KMS under the overall leadership of the Reynosa/Kokomo GSM Manager.

• Coordinate and actively participate in the development of suppliers of materials and services, as well as in the evaluation of their quality and reliability.

• Prepare the annual work plan to define the strategies to be carried out to comply with the buyers' objectives and thus comply with the GSM management strategy. Support buyers in product or service negotiations. Communicate the strategic and improvement plans to GSM manager

• Implement strategies to obtain price reductions and improvements in purchasing conditions for materials, products, and services.

• Lead corrective action measures for plant purchasing function

• Provide local leadership and direction to the Reynosa Purchasing team

• Comply with the buyer development plan.

• Ensure that the initiatives and negotiations carried out with suppliers are for the benefit of BW Reynosa, considering the long-term and sustainable.

• Recognized Process expert with ability to convey/train knowledge to others.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor of International Trade, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or other related.

Time of experience in similar position: 10 or more years of experience.

Technical knowledge required: Ability to supervise a group of mid-level or higher purchasing professionals and / or entry-level Manager, strong functional and technical skills.

Other requirements: University Diploma in related discipline or equivalent experience, C.P.M. Certified Purchasing Manager (certification preferred).

Availability to travel: Yes Frequency: Sporadic

English Required: Proficient
