Job purpose

A Quality Technician is responsible for assisting and supporting the quality manager in promoting quality and process improvement in machines, methods, and materials.

Key responsibilities

  • Support all production processes regarding quality assurance
  • Assure release and maintenance of production travelers and inspection reports
  • Conduct and monitor End of Line testing of final products
  • Perform inspection audits across multiple stages of production
  • Completion and maintenance of Layered Process Audits (LPA) as required
  • Complete incoming/outgoing inspection of products as required
  • Assist in the identification of production material concerns, and quality improvements
  • Assist in the maintenance of calibrated devices and measuring equipment
  • Identify, quarantine, and communicate component defects and quality issues expeditiously
  • Assist in addressing customer concerns and completion of corrective action reports
  • Participate in MRB (Material Review Board)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • 2 or more years of experience working in quality assurance preferably within automotive environment
  • Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED. Some technical training and/or college education highly preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (blueprints), control plans and work instructions
  • Experience using measuring equipment and test devices
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office software
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Capable of making decisions regarding product quality and part disposition
  • Knowledge of the relevant industry standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and with others with minimal supervision
  • Must be reliable, ready to learn, highly motivated and flexible
