Position Summary

Will work with other Production Planners in the execution of the defined material schedules for manufacture of commercial products.                                    

Assist in the planning and preparation of material schedule                        

Assist in the coordination and expediting flow of materials                          

Will provide follow-up to customer related activities                         

Assignments are given with detailed oral and/or written instructions                                   

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Standard Duties :  

  • Execute and monitor supplier releases per schedule.
  • Manage right part, the right time, and right quantity of components.
  • Maintain runout sheet to monitor supply,
  • Follow and assure arrival of carriers with components to plant / warehouse on time.
  • Attend daily plant and supplier meetings as scheduled.
  • Escalate risks to production due to supplier delivery performance.
  • Manage and reduce premium freight due to component availability.
  • Maintain communication with other PC&L members to make sure downtime is minimized as well as inventory control is maintained.
  • Schedule and manage heat treater outside suppliers. (Shipments and arrivals)
  • Manage and maintain an optimal inventory level, per inventory policy for all components.
  • Communicate all cost impacts due to supplier delivery with finance for chargeback management.
  • Executes the material plans and schedules for each department and operations according to manufacturing goals                                                     
  •  stock taking within the area of responsibility.           
  • Stock controlling / optimization within the area of responsibility.
  • Available nights/weekends for emergency supply issues,
  •  Able to stand/stoop/squat as needed for emergency part cycle counts.

                       

Knowledge/Skills

Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Additional Information:

  • Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

Safety and Physical Requirements:

  • All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas.
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ year’s experience in logistics related field.
