BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Associate Designer – Mentor Graphics Librarian & Electrical CAD for the Power Electronics group at our Indiana Technical Center in Noblesville, Indiana (NTC). This position does not provide sponsorship or relocation assistance. Preference will be given to local candidates.  

The Associate Designer – Mentor Graphics Librarian & Electrical CAD will be primarily responsible for the Mentor Graphics librarian role for BorgWarner’s power electronics components.  The Jr. Designer, Electrical CAD will insure BorgWarner’s electronics components are properly designed to meet BorgWarner’s, industry, and manufacturability requirements. Will add new products and parts for each project. Between projects this role will train in circuit board design for Power Electronics as well as create designs in electrical CAD.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform duties of the BorgWarner global librarian using Mentor Graphics
  • Development of detailed electrical components information used for design layout to BorgWarner librarian design guidelines and electrical/mechanical constraints
  • Work with the BorgWarner engineers to ensure efficient creation of electrical components library information
  • Support BorgWarner product development/production teams
  • Assist in establishing best techniques/procedures and apply these for electronic parts
  • Generate electronic parts information for release library
  • Support circuit board design between projects (secondary responsibility to Mentor Graphics Librarian role)
  • Support electrical CAD as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 1 year electronics trade school or demonstrated knowledge preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required in some combination of the following areas:
    • Electronic circuits
    • Mechanical design  
    • Circuit board design
    • Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
