Job Summary

Contributes to developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for BorgWarner Seneca to operate within. May undertake auditing to ensure compliance and/or lead external third party accredited body audits.  Responsible for developing, improving, and operating the Quality Management System (QMS), approving and writing procedures and processes to support the QMS development. Lead and undertake audits across all areas of the business in compliance to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.  Provide training and champion the Quality Management System. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion.

Ensure processes, procedures and other documentation is compliant with the standard.

Responsibilities

  • Quality systems experience is essential, with a detailed understanding of Quality Management Systems and Technical Specifications ISO/TS16949, Automotive SPICE etc.
  • Ensure the Quality Management System satisfies the external certification requirements of relevant standards such as ISO 16949:2002, ISO 14001 etc.
  • Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company, including any business accreditations
  • Maintain the Quality Database, Manuals, and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for business and compliant to OEM Automotive Standards.
  • Analyze current and future procedural needs of the business.
  • Coach and guide others in the organization on the requirements of the Quality Management System, and the tools used to implement and maintain it successfully.
  • Organize and manage the plant internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system
  • Conduct Quality Systems audits and assist in training/guidance to other auditors
  • Host external Quality System audits
  • Provide training on Quality, Compliance, Awareness, and business processes
  • Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with plant continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support other functional areas of the business in compliance with their relevant elements.
  • Collect and analyze quality data for monitoring targets
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems as needed.
  • Prepare for and interface with customer and approval authorities' representatives during assessments and audits.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical degree and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical quality support, quality systems, and auditing, preferably in Automotive OEM Tier 1 supplier facility.
  • Excellent communication, oral and written, and presentation skills.
  • High degree of PC literacy
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize own time and possibly that of others.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to navigate complex organizational matrix and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of ISO-9000 ad IATF16949 standards.
  • Certified IATF-16949 auditor preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of Process control plans, process flow diagrams, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Knowledgeable of APQP processes and PPAP requirements.
  • Strong Statistical and analytical proficiency.
  • Knowledgeable of Automotive OEM CSRs.
  • Proficient of automotive problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa analysis, etc.) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
