JOB DESCRIPTION:

General responsibilities include general accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, SOX compliance, audit requests, consolidation & reporting, and special projects. The position reports to the Senior Financial Analyst Leader and is located at the Powertrain Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI.

In addition, the person will support global oversight of R&D, which will include coordination and consolidation of the reporting, forecasting, and budget planning.

The intern in this position will be expected to work 20-30 hours a week while attending university full-time and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The position works closely with the BU finance group and RU accounting folks to ensure seamless reporting activities within the Division.
  • Assist in preparation of the Sales Flash on weekly basis
  • Assist in monthly reporting including Actuals and Forecasts analysis utilizing Hyperion.
  • Assist in Quarterly Balance sheet review coordination and reports. Assist in preparation and consolidation of monthly R&D reports.
  • SOX coordination utilizing Archer. Monitor key balance sheet accounts (working capital) and income statement.
  • Responsible for recurring month end entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Responsible for completion of special assignments as required. Examples include updating HFM reports; creating ad-hoc reports upon request from various functional managers.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Working towards their Bachelor in business, preferably with a specialization in Finance or Accounting or Accounting Information Systems preferably in their Sophomore or Junior year
  • 0-2 years of professional experience (including internships)
  • Must be willing to work 20 ~ 30 hours a week
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Hyperion is preferred
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organization skills
  • Experience with Hyperion and SAP is plus
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
