Position Requirements:

Be available to work on all machines to support output and mechanical bottlenecks. Continuously training new employees on troubleshooting, fill in as team lead for vacations, cover critical machines during breaks and lunches as directed, stage and participate in changeovers, and work with engineering to provide continuous improvement ideas and solutions.

Initial requirements for the position include the ability to use gauges and measuring devices, statistical charting, and inspection/packing as needed. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds are key elements to the position.

Must demonstrate basic working knowledge of the principles of pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum, and mechanical systems. Must demonstrate basic working knowledge of photo-eyes, proximity sensors, and LVDTs. Must be able to conduct routine preventive and minor corrective maintenance at regular intervals on machinery to ensure continuous operation. 

Candidate must demonstrate strong mechanical, electrical, and process troubleshooting aptitude to resolve machine and process problems as well as to detect possible breakdown conditions or process failures before actual equipment/process failures occur.

Must setup dies and process machinery, make adjustments to machinery using basic hand tools, and repair or replace worn or broken parts when and where necessary. Perform changeovers, calibrate ATMs, re-teach servo operated automation, adjust hydraulic/pneumatic pressures, and adjust mini oilers.

Technician they are responsible to produce parts that are of acceptable quality and at an acceptable rate. Technicians are expected to maintain Single Point Responsibilities as assigned. Follow systems and procedures.

Act and perform duties in a manner that is conducive to a professional, productive and team-oriented environment.

Other duties as required.

Candidates will be offered the job after the interviews and testing. Highest seniority BorgWarner employees will have the first choice of job and shifts available. Other candidates offered positions will be based on skill, ability and work history and will be offered shift based on what is available when they are given job offer.  Shift preference occurs in September annually.

•     Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions.

•     Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration. 

•     Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job.

•     Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.

•     If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.

•     If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.

•     This Position requires that you be able to Read and Write English;

•     Applicants must meet all criteria in the job bidding process

•     Employees who have been interviewed within 6 months for the SAME exact position  may not be re-interview.

•     Employees with a Wonderlic® Score of 16 or higher and a Wiesen®  score of 40 or higher are eligible for LG5 positions and higher
