Test Engineer-Clutch

Work together with the global Transmission Systems Engineering organization in development of Transmission and Hybrid hydraulic control products. Responsible for rig and vehicle testing regarding customer requirements and internal test specifications.

This position can be in Shanghai, Tianjin or Dalian

Essential Functions:

  • Implementation of test sequences at test rigs according test specifications and customer test requirements.
  • Analysis of measurement data and reporting
  • Tester daily maintenance.
  • Presentation and discussion of test results with customers
  • Participating in customer team meetings
  • Supporting customer in analyzing testing data
  • Creation and review of DVP document with customers


  • This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires.  This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses.  He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers.  In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.

    Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Abilities:

  • Master – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Experience with measurement acquisition and evaluation systems (Famos, CANape) (required)
  • Experience with clutch, hydraulic control components and systems (preferred)
  • Experience with E-motor or hybrid transmission testing(preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and the business (required)
  • Experience with working with Automotive OEM customers (required)
  • Vehicle evaluation and test skills (preferred)
  • English language proficiency (required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (required)
  • Excellent presentation skills (required)
