Position Summary

The incumbent must be results driven to business needs, employee experience, and the public image. Provides HR partnership to optimize people, structure, process and culture, with the goal of achieving business results. Understands the facility organizational structure as well as knowledge of federal and location/country/region laws and labor practices. Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult problems that requires strong discretionary skills.

Standard Duties

  • Demonstrates advanced-level knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in areas such as recruitment, employee and/or labor relations, workers compensation, payroll, compensation and benefits, and managing business partnerships with cross-functional groups.  
  • Partner with Safety on incident investigation from initial claim to a resolution.
  • Strong focus on staffing and recruitment for area responsibility.
  • Strong focus on applying and operating within the BorgWarner Beliefs.
  • Facilitates a collaborative environment and implements appropriate change management initiatives.
  • Provides customer service to support the business through the consistent application of HR policies, recruitment strategies, performance management, data analysis, team progress and taking initiative on challenging assignments.
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Manage high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves".
  • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures for continual improvement in business objectives, productivity and development.
  • Provide a true, hands-on approach and successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Flexibility to support a 24//7 work environment that has multiple shifts and a complex work situations.

Additional Information

  • Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

Safety and Physical Requirements

  • All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience, employee relations, change management, and recruiting
  • SHRM-CP, PHR certification is a plus
  • Masters degree is a plus
  • Proven track record of advanced-level HR generalist duties
