BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Platform Software Architect to analyze customer specifications, provide scalable architectural solutions to support current and future needs in Power Drive Systems (PDS) projects. This position is at our Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

In this role, the Software Architect will analyze customer specifications, provide architectural solutions for platform that will be the basis for use in Power Drive Systems (PDS) customer projects.

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Platform Software Architect to analyze customer specifications, provide scalable architectural solutions to support current and future needs in Power Drive Systems (PDS) projects. This position is at our Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

In this role, the Software Architect will analyze customer specifications, provide architectural solutions for platform that will be the basis for use in Power Drive Systems (PDS) customer projects.

Job Duties:

  • Review customer and internal specifications and analyze requirements.

  • Coordinate and develop common architectural solutions that are scalable for all current and future customer projects.

  • Lead the establishment of software architecture/design standards and guidelines.

  • Work with international/distributed software engineering teams for Automotive Electronics Projects.

  • Support Feature/Function planning rollout for Software platform.

  • Work on new technologies and provide proof of concept solutions.

  • Support internal and external quality initiatives.

  • Provide training to the development team.

  • Develop embedded software using C, AUTOSAR and Model based tools focusing on reusability across projects.

  • Assist in debugging through established problem-solving techniques and debug on bench.

  • Interface with Systems engineering to ensure software requirements are documented appropriately and analyzed prior to software design and implementation.

  • Design, code, and test software following Automotive SPICE-compliant development process.

  • Ensure document traceability from requirements through Architecture to testcases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering field. Master’s degree strongly preferred.

  • 7+ years of embedded software experience required.

  • Automotive Experience strongly preferred. Electric Motor drives or Powertrain systems is preferred.

  • Prior experience as a SW architect in embedded domain is required.

  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR BSW modules and RTE generation preferred.

  • Software integration experience on at least one AUTOSAR-based project.

  • Functional Safety (ISO 26262) knowledge and impact to architecture.

  • CAN experience preferred.

  • Experience with requirements management tool.

  • Low level driver development experience is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge/Experience with MATLAB-Simulink, AUTOSAR tools (Davinci, iSolar), Lauterbach, CAN tools.

  • Knowledge of Agile is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel 5-10% of work hours as required.
