BorgWarner customers portfolio includes major global car manufacturers, the team in Kraków interfaces with European customers mostly from Germany, France, and the UK.

The team develops components of vehicle fuel systems. The components are made mainly by plastic injection molding.

The team in Kraków has full design responsibility for the product starting at conceptual phase and lasting up to mass production implementation.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains 3D models and 2D drawings in close collaboration with Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer and other team members in the respect to design guidelines
  • Performs all necessary design studies to assure design capability i.e. FEA, min-max tolerances, design limits, stack-ups, strength of materials
  • Maintains component library and engineering documentation
  • Ensures flawless documentation for all internal, customer and supplier communication including data and drawing exchange.
  • Contributes ideas and concepts
  • Stays abreast of new technology and market conditions
  • Develops new concepts and designs
  • Supports cost down initiatives, supplier quality assurance, warranty investigations
  • Ensures manufacturability of design in co-operation with Manufacturing Engineer
  • Supports new businesses quotation processes and changes to current businesses
     

Requirements:

  • B. Sc. is a minimum requirement. M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering is a preference
  • At least 2 years of experience as a CAD Designer
  • Proven ability to work in either of Catia v5, Catia v6 or Siemens NX.
  • Very good command of English allowing to lead even complex technical discussions via mail or telephone.
    Command of other languages is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in GD&T
  • Past experience in automotive or plastic injection molding is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of 3D printing will be an advantage
  • Excellent time management for own tasks
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Broad technical knowledge and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to travel internationally
